Sounds like you need a longer tie~ you must have a really long torso.

This looks like it produces great results, but I can barely go once around in the knot without having to have the short end be extremely short. Otherwise the long end won't reach my belt.

Great Video....though sadly Double Windsor won't work for me unless it's an extra long tie.
If you're cursed with short legs and a long torso like I am, you'll find that most ties will end up too short with the double windsor knot (unless you've been lucky enough to find an extra long tie). Therefore, I opt for the single windsor most times which bypasses the intermediary step of going behind the narrow end of the tie, and simply is a once around and through kind of thing.
Just a head's up for all you long-torsoed users so you don't get frustrated when each attempt ends in the narrow part of the tie being a little stub in order to get the front end down to the belt-buckle.

Hmm... is this truly the best way to tie a tie? Any disputes?
Get dressed up right! Though there are many ways to tie a necktie, none come close to matching the superior form and style of the double Windsor. Learn how to tie one yourself in this quick and easy ViewDo.
